This
is a course for newcomers to the computer. It explains some of the jargon
and introduces the components of a modern personal computer system. Then gets to
grips with the mouse and keyboard and uses these to discover the basics of
running programs and how information is stored. The group size is never larger
than four. The content for each day is outlined below.
The course may be run as a two day relax and learn course covering any two days including weekends but excluding Monday. It can also be run as a more intensive complete one day course. Day 1: Windows and Programs - get to grips with the mouse and keyboard; discover how to start programs; explore the fundamental features of Windows. Day 2: Disks and Data - find out about the storage areas of your computer; use CDs and floppy diskettes; discover how to install a new program, and how to manage data.
