Approximate Total Length:  2 Kms        Terrain: Moderately easy—no steep slopes; some small ditches;  may be wet in some areas; no stiles; usually suitable for walkers with dogs.

Directions:

 

From the Centre, rejoin the road and turn right up the glen (1). After going over  the cattle grid (dogs may use the gate), you will pass the Millennium Wood on your right (2) . Younger visitors may wish to try their hand at finding the animals here. You can buy an entry map at the Glenholm Centre.

 

Continue on the road for ½km. Just before the fencing starts on the right (3), turn down the sheep path across the rough pasture towards the  Holms Water. Before walking down to the river you may wish to take a short detour along the road to watch the wildlife on the Glenholm pond from the hide.

 

Having left the road, walk along the burn side past the sheep crossing (19) to the corner of the Millennium Wood. Then return to the road and walk along the road back to the Centre.
