Conversion and construction work on the Glenholm Centre began with the
demolition of the boundary wall of the Glenholm School House on the 2nd March
1998. This had followed 18 months of designing and planning.
The work lasted about nineteen weeks, and was carried out
by John Robertson Construction under the guidance of the architectural
consultant M.S. Sim. It involved the construction of a new extension
(the 'new build') attached to the old Glenholm school house and filling
the old garden area, and the conversion and modernisation of the school
house itself and the old school.
The school house now contains
three guest rooms, the office and the proprietors' accommodation. The
school is a fully equipped training room and the extension contains the lounge, dining room and kitchen.
